PLASTIC FREE DRAGONBOAT FESTIVALS
Green Dargons HK works with dragonboat festival organisers to find ways to reduce plastic wastes during the race events. Some HK Dragonboat festival organisers are already taking actions to better protect our seas and shores and eliminate single use plastic. Green Dragons HK support them in identifying solutions meeting their specific constrains and broaden their impact year after year.
WATER STATION
To eliminate water bottle waste, set up a water station for paddlers to refill their reusable water bottle.
RECYCLING
To ensure minimum plastic waste, organise recycling station with local trustworthy recycling companies.
Sort out the different types of plastics and ensure they go all the way through the plastic recycling life cycle.
SET EXPECTATIONS
Include plastic free ambitions in all communication: call for registration emails, website, communication update, press communication.
Invite the participating teams to come with their reusable water bottle, after-race party cups, food containers.

Engage your partners, food suppliers and sponsors, participating in the success of the event, in avoiding single use plastic both in the food containers and promotion item they give away.
